Dr. N. Kumar received his M.Tech and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Computer and Systems Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
He has received the Qualcomm Faculty Award (QFA)-2023 under the Qualcomm 6G University Research India-2023 with $60,000 from Qualcomm, and the Google explore-CSR-2023 with $32,000. He has also received a Special Mention Award from Xerox Research Centre Bangalore, several Best Paper Awards, and a Travel Grant Award from the IEEE IPDPS International Society.
He currently works as an Associate Professor at IIT Roorkee, India, and as Program Director of AI Engineering on Cloud and AIOps. He has published 100+ research papers in top-tier venues, including IEEE/ACM journals and transactions (IEEE-TITS, IEEE-TVT, IEEE-TGCN, IEEE-TCSS, etc.), Elsevier journals (FGCS, IS, JNCA, EAAI, etc.), and Springer journals.
He serves as Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, and as an active reviewer for top-ranked journals including Nature Communications, IEEE TITS, IEEE TIV, IEEE TVT, IEEE TPDS, IEEE IoT, IEEE TNSM, IEEE TGCN, IEEE TSC, IEEE Sensors Journal, FGCS, and others.
He is Lead PI on several sponsored projects and Co-PI on one, funded by IIT Roorkee, DST, CSIR, SERB, DST-TIHs, Qualcomm, Google, Infineon, and other agencies of the Government of India, with several more proposals currently under review. He has sanctioned approx. INR 120 million in total funding, holds several granted and filed patents (individually and in collaboration), and has served as a technical program committee member at multiple conferences.
